Description

Just thought I'd go ahead and post a little something of and for my SoulSilver team, and main PKMN characters for RPing with others. And since I went through the trouble to sketch, ink, scan, fix twice, color, shade, and background (lame, I know) this pic for three days straight, I am going to go through even more trouble just to give you a BIO! Mwahaha. :mwahaha:

Trainer Name: Kayleen "Kay" Lana
Age: 18+
Gender: F
Hometown/Region: Dewford Town, Hoenn
Personality: The stereotypical fire. She's short tempered, excitable, and headstrong. Act first, apologize later is her philosophy, and giving up is not option. There are instances where she is calm, collected, and cool... but instances are just what they are, instances, and before you can blink that cool-headedness is replaced by her usual brash, hot-headed self.

She's proud of her martial arts skills, her hometown, and of her team's accomplishments, and unafraid to say so. She knows she's not the best, but when has that ever stopped anybody? Underlying all this fire, however, is just another sweet girl who guiltily coddles her already-vain Espeon, and sweet-talks her Steelix, and who remains as fiercely loyal and compassionate to her pokemon and her few people friends as the sun is hot. She's not the best at being a people person, but rest assured Kay's the friend you can count on.

Due to having grown up on an island, Kay has a natural affinity for water, able to swim in and under the water surface and surf like many of the islanders of Dewford Town for hours. However, she has, ever since a tragic accident involving a befriended baby Wingull and a thunderstorm, she has a distinct fear of thunderstorms, and every time it storms (not rains, but storms) in the temperate climate of Johto, Kay can always be found curled up and hidden away from the flashing lightning and rumbling thunder, usually comforted by one of her pokemon.

One of Kay's friends, besides her sister Chelsey, is Sookie

Backstory/History: Kay comes from a simple, borderlining poverty-middle class family comprising of her and her mother, her divorced father, and beloved younger sister Chelsey, who lives with their father in Celadon. The two sisters, despite the rough and abrupt severing of their family, keep in touch despite the large distance between them and are quite close. Chelsey started her own pokemon trainer adventure in Kanto and ended up in an internship as an assistant aide to a pokemon Professor.

Kay managed to convince her mother at the age of thirteen to let her become a pokemon trainer and leave her martial arts training and hometown behind. Unfortunately, she got on the wrong boat, so instead of getting on a boat to Littleroot to get a Torchic, she got taken to Newbark Town and got a Totodile. Whatever though man, Johto's cool, bro!

TEAM J-KAY (ha, get it!?)

Jarvis
Species: Feraligatr, male
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Calm, proud of his power
Item: Never-melt Ice (worn as "brass"knuckles)
Moves: Crunch, Surf, Ice Punch, Superpower
Extra Info: Kay's starter for the Johto region, originally Kay had wanted the fire-type Cyndaquil. However, the martial artist was no match for his big, wide, Totodile eyes so she settled with the alligator pokemon. He's heavily scarred from various fights growing up, some his fault, some his opponents, and some he and Kay refuse to explain. Jarvis is a generally calm, peaceful kind of guy, despite that his name means "conqueror". He likes to take life slow, enjoy it while he can, and as the Wise Man of the team, tries to encourage the others to enjoy it as well. He sometimes has to play the peacemaker, and with his size and strength it comes easily to him. He can be gentle, kind, and very at-ease; not to say that he can't be firm when it comes down to it. While his temper is very slow to set off, it is in no way lacking ferocity and terror when it finally sets off. He can be firm, and even harsh when the time calls for it. He's often the wiseman, and the parental figure (especially to Cortez) of the team.

Bronx
Species: Steelix, male
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Hasty, loves to eat
Item: Muscle Band (the bands on his iron spikes)
Moves: Earthquake, Iron Tail, Stone Edge, Crunch
Extra Info: It's one thing to raise an Onyx when you've had no experience with them- it's another to raise a hasty, excitable one. It took a while for Kay to get a good, firm hand on Bronx due to inexperience with his species, but eventually she was able to tame him properly. Bronx is a hasty, excitable Steelix with a tendency to jump into a fray, and a overbearingly large stomach for food. It's often caused Kay's wallet to suffer, but she doesn't mind so much. She still sweet-talks him anyway, like a baby sometimes. Humorous, but it never dampens the Steelix's mood to be loved. His strong attack and whopping defense make him a dangerous opponent and the team's powerhouse---especially when he's hyper DUN DUN DUUUUUN.

Pierre
Species: Ampharos, male
Ability: Static
Nature: Hardy, sturdy body
Item: Choice Scarf (worn as a, well, scarf)
Moves: Thunderpunch, Rock Climb, Power Gem, Rock Smash
Extra Info Humorously enough, Pierre was caught as an itty bitty Mareep utside of Violet City...AFTER Kay had defeated the flying type gym leader. As a mareep, he was shy and impressionable. As he evolved, he became a bit more headstrong- at one point literally, when he knew headbutt. He's quite the mischievous joker, and used to play pranks on the team when he was a headstrong Flaaffy, especially with his bro, Jet the Togekiss. Ever since the loss of his brother in arms, Pierre's gotten a little more under control, but occasionally his electric streak of mischief sparks up, especially with Cortez. Occasionally, he can be a bit of a spaz. Kay blames the electricity built up inside his body.

Vayne
Species: Espeon, male
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Bold, somewhat vain
Item: Expert Belt (worn as a scarf)
Moves: Morning Sun, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Signal Beam
Extra Info: Vayne is...well, vain. When he was an eevee, an old lady had hatched him and pampered him, grooming him and spoiling him. When Kay helped out the old lady with quite a few chores and babysat her eevee for her, the old lady gave Vayne to Kay, saying she was going to have to say bye to him soon (as in dieing) and would much prefer to let him go to a trainer that seemed good for him rather than leave him all alone. Vayne grew to love his new trainer, even if she didn't spoil him as much as she should, and days passed as Kay trained him, sometimes hard sometimes gentle, and usually during the day, because she needed BADLY a psychic in her team, and at the moment only an Espeon would do. But one day, after a particularly hard day of training, it was 7:42. Kay decided enough was enough and assured Vayne that regardless of what form he evolved to (if he even evolved) she'd still love him. Then he accidentally pissed off a Drowsee. At 7:50 he defeated it and evolved- ten minutes before 8, the official night time hour. Ta-dah! And thus he's been an Espeon and traveled with Kay ever since. He's still a reckless, arrogant little show-off though.

Emberlynn
Species: Rapidash
Ability: Run Away
Nature: Hasty, capable of taking hits
Item: Charcoal (one either adorned around neck, or saddle, neither pictured)
Moves: Flare Blitz, Bounce, Fire Blast, Strength
Extra Info: Born and raised on the wild route of 26, near the Silver League, Emberlynn is a proud girl, and is unafraid to put someone in their place. She's hot-tempered, and makes no effort to hinder her pride and temper when she feels offended or hurt, and does not take kindly to jokes, putting her at odds with Pierre and Cortez. It's taken a few rough patches, but Emberlynn came around to appreciating and loving her trainer, seeing that Kay wasn't just one of those trainers to catch and carelessly throw around (or away) her pokemon. Since Kay's team lacks a flyer, Emberlynn tends to be her favorite method of getting around, as both females find nothing more enjoyable than a fast sprint across the region.

Cortez
Species: Sceptile
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Naughty, highly curious
Item: Rose Incense (super-tiny jars on bands around neck and wrists)
Moves: Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Focus Blast, Rock Slide
Extra Info: Cortez, as a Treecko, was abandoned for his mischief by his trainer, right at the front entrance of Victory Road. Kay and her team came across him and, Cortez was convinced she was going to toss him aside like his other trainer had done. However, after several failed attempts to piss her off to prove his point by pranking her or the team, Cortez figured out that not all trainers are the same, and decided he'd give her a chance. He immediately took interest in the team's oldest member, Jarvis, and looked up to him as a son would a father. Despite the type differences, Kay trained Cortez with Jarvis, solidifying their brotherly-at-the-same-time-son-fatherly bonds and with a little bit of work, was able to get Cortez comfortable and happy with the rest of her team. His mischievous ways have dwindled, but he still has a strong sense of curiosity that occasionally gets him (and his partner in crime, Pierre) into trouble, to the uptight chagrin of Emberlynn.

And ya know what's funny about the whole picutre?
I am most proud...of Jarvis's teeth.

Look at dem chompers! Just lookatem!

IDK.
